This cake is a combination of my two favorite things... Cake and Wine! I was so excited to get started on such different shaped cake.
During the drive to it's destination it started swaying back and forth. Talk about giving a girl a heart attack! I'm happy to report that it did make it to its destination safely and the recipient was very happy with his cake.

Un bellissimo lavoro, complimenti!!!
ReplyDeleteI really love this! It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh wow - that is amazing! Definitely would be a super stressful delivery.
ReplyDeleteWOW! You did an incredible job on this cake!
ReplyDeletehow many 6 inch round cakes did you use, also how hard was it to wrap the fondant on the bottle and how did you make the round part as the neck of bottle goes up. thank you. The cake is amazing
ReplyDeleteHi Lilly, I was mistaken when I said 6" rounds, I meant 5" rounds. I believe there were 7 or 8 of them that I torted and filled. I rolled out a large piece of fondant and carefully wrapped it. I had to use two pieces of fondant but it was hard to tell after painting it. The neck of the bottle is modeling chocolate. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteoh, my!!!! how do you hold them together all the tiers?????
Deleteso you don't cover the cake from bottom to top?.. its wrapped around?
DeleteWow!!Amazing
ReplyDeleteMAuro
It's beautiful!... This maybe a silly question but how did you cut it??
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, luckily I didn't have to cut into it. If I had, I would have removed the neck of the bottle and then sliced from the top. :)
DeleteHi amazing cake & I wondered what support you used? Is it plastic pipe attached to a cake board? Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! The plastic pipe I used was in the sprinkler section of the hardware store. It also comes with a flange thingy that screws into the board. Hope this helps!!
DeleteAmazing Work! would you be able to post a step by step tutorial?
ReplyDeleteWould love step by step tutorial
ReplyDeleteDid you put anything between the layers of cake to keep it sturdy, or prevent it from sinking? Or were you able to just stack the cake layer by layer on top of one another until you got the height you wanted?
